Activities in 2005Women literacy project: In Cooperation with the Rotary Club of Patan, another 800 women learned how to read, write and basics in economics. Watertank for SKM-HospitalA Watertank containing 60.000l has been installed. The daily consumption of water is about 10 m³ for laundry, garden and cultivation of plants. Wheelchair project: We finished the fidth phase of the project. In this phase we produced and distributed mainly three wheeled wheelchairs, which are use travel long distances. Statistics show, that more men than women received those wheelchairs, as they travel much less than men. These wheelchairs make it possible to work off side the houase. Calendar: In the previous years we could generate about 7.000 Euro by selling the calendar. Due to a higher price and a higher edition we earned nearly 10.000,- Euro. The Calendars 2007 and 2008 are already prepared. This time with five different photographers. New Homepage: A new homepage will try to give better informations of our work, you will find hints on upcoming events and invitations. DZI-Certificate: DZI Certificate proofs that donations are handled professionally and in a transparent way. Training Centre in Jhapa: The training centre is growing well. The newly aquired knowledge in agriculture will introduce new sources of income. After finishing the school people can work in cooperatives attached to the project. Sea Buckthorn Nurseries: We financed two nurseries in the Muktinath valley. These plants will in future contribute to the income of the local population, as Sea Buckthorns are urgently needed plants in the pharmaceutical and cosmetical industries. finanzieren wir zwei Sanddornschulen, die mittelfristig(!) die Bevölkerung finanziell in eine etwas bessere Lage versetzen werden.br/> Rescue Center in Lalonde, Mumbai: The project is growing. We financed the construction of several buildings. Here trafficked girls and women, freed from the brothels inMumbai will find their first shelter. There will be a hospital and several workshops on the compound. Water irigeation: We finished several new irrigation projects. All together we finished so far 15 schemes. Repatriation of trafficked children: Nearly 100 girls and boys have been safely accompanied back to Kathmandu. One World festival Aachen: As usually NRA was represented on the One World festival in Aachen. Book-Bazaar in Einhard-Gymnasium: As every year we could sell lot´s of books at the bazaar to support our project. |
